For our purposes, a data feed is a large file filled with lots of information. More specifically, information about the merchant's products. A data feed can also be thought of as a database. Data feeds can contain anywhere from a handful of products, to tens of thousands of products. File sizes vary, and in uncompressed form can be anywhere from 500k up to 20MB or more. Datafeeds are automatically downloaded from the merchant server and products are loaded into the ShopMania database

Product Datafeed Format

Category Names

You can only list your products if it can be matched to one of the categories from our website. Otherwise please contact us in order to arrange this facility for you.

Product names

Product name must be very descriptive. It must not contain the store name or other informations about price discounts.

Product Images

You must provide the link to the largest image of the product and not a thumbnail image. Images cannot have any watermark or they will be removed There are 2 datafeed types: - automatically generate through a script that connects to the database and outputs the products info - manually built based on the specified format A valid datafeed must follow the above mentioned rules. In our case a datafeed is a file delimited by tab or | where products are displayed on 10 columns in the following order: Category Name, Manufacturer, Model, Merchant Code, Product Name, Product Description, Product URL, Product Image URL, Price, Currency

You can make the necessary settings by accessing the "Upload Settings" link in the top navigation bar.

After the changes are made it can take up to 24 hours until your products will be visible on the site. If you think there is a no problem with the datafeed you have loaded please do not hesitate to contact us!

Please provide the inner categories for your products and not the root categories: Audio & Multimedia > Camcorders / MP4 Players / MP3 Players, instead of Audio & Multimedia.

It will be very helpful for us if you provide the full path for every category: "Audio & Multimedia > Camcorders > Accessories" instead of just "Accessories"

Here are some reasons why your datafile might be rejected:

# The value specified for the "Upload URL" field is invalid
# Your script output does not look like a valid merchant datafeed. Fields are not in the required order (category | manufacturer | part number | merchant product code | product name | description | product URL | image URL | price | currency)
# Your script output does not look like a valid merchant datafeed. If this is an osCommerce/ZenCart/Virtuemart script you need to make sure the script is located in the same place with the rest of the files as this is the most common problem.
# Your merchant datafeed has some output errors. The problem is that some fields mainly product description spread on multiple rows. You need to check and make sure the new line characters (\n) are being automatically removed from every field. If this is an osCommerce/ZenCart/Virtuemart script this should already be taken into consideration unless you have not altered the script.
# The size of your merchant datafeed exceeds the maximum size of 20 Mb and maximum number of allowed products (10,000). Please make sure you limit your script output to the above mentioned maximum limits
